Vinyl Removal Dublin
Is your vinyl kitchen peeling? It's a common problem in Dublin homes. Over time, heat and humidity cause the vinyl wrap on kitchen cabinets to shrink, bubble, and peel away from the MDF underneath. This leaves your kitchen looking tired and neglected.
Don't worry, we have the solution. Kitchen Finest is a proud branch of Expert Spray Painting Ltd, and we specialize in professional vinyl removal and respraying. We carefully strip away the old, peeling vinyl, exposing the raw MDF core. We then sand, prime, and spray paint the doors to create a permanent, seamless finish that will never peel again.
This service not only repairs the damage but upgrades your kitchen to a painted finish, which is far superior and longer-lasting than vinyl wrap.

Testimonials
Details that affect results
Removing vinyl wrap is often necessary when the vacuum-sealed layer begins to fail, usually due to heat from appliances or general age. The process exposes the raw MDF underneath, which must be carefully assessed. Our goal is to strip the vinyl without damaging the substrate, but the condition of the MDF beneath is the key factor in the final finish.
Once the vinyl is removed, the remaining glue must be painstakingly removed. Any residue left behind can affect the smoothness of the paint. We use industrial heat guns and solvents to ensure a clean slate, followed by extensive sanding and priming to seal the MDF, creating a durable surface that is often superior to the original wrap.
What’s included
- Careful heat removal of existing vinyl wrap
- Scraping and chemical removal of adhesive residue
- Sanding of raw MDF to smooth out fibres
- Filling of any surface damage caused by vinyl failure
- Application of MDF-specific high-build primer
- Full respray in your chosen colour and finish
- Re-fitting of doors and drawers
What affects the quote
- Tenacity of the original adhesive (some glues are harder to remove)
- Accidental damage to MDF during previous removal attempts
- Profile complexity (grooves hold more glue)
- Number of items needing stripping
- Condition of the MDF edges (swelling due to moisture)
Care & maintenance
- Painted MDF is durable but should not be soaked in water
- Wipe down with a damp cloth and dry immediately
- Check hinges periodically as MDF doors can be heavy
- Avoid excessive heat exposure (toaster/kettle) directly under wall units
- Treat the new paint finish with care, especially in the first few weeks
Stop looking at peeling cabinets. We can strip them back and give you a permanent, beautiful finish.
Send photos of the peeling areas and we’ll tell you what’s possible.
